The ASA has been in existence since 1869. It was the first Governing Body of swimming to be established in the world and today remains the English national governing body for swimming, diving, water polo, open water, and synchronised swimming.

The ASA East Region comprises the Sub-Regional Bodies of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex excluding the Greater London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest.

The aims of the Region are:
1. To promote regional competition in the various swimming disciplines.
2. To carry out the aims and objects of the ASA;
3. To obey and enforce the laws, rules, resolutions and rulings of the ASA.

Herts Sports Partnership was established in 2003 as one of 49 County Sport Partnerships in England, as part of the long-term plan for delivering sport across the nation. It is led by a voluntary representative executive board and has a core team of full and part-time sports professionals all of whom are passionate about the work carried out by the Partnership.

The Royal Life Saving Society UK is a registered charity with a vision ‘To safeguard lives in, on and near water’.

We are the governing body and leading provider of training and education in lifesaving, lifeguarding, water safety and life support skills in the UK.
