Watford Water Polo - Super Sunday

Super Sunday as it will now be known was a huge success as the club’s four different sides won all  seven matches yesterday & our U18′s were crowned Winter League Champions 2017/18.

In total the four sides scored a combined total of 103 goals & conceded only 23 in the seven games & used 39 players.

Sunday started with the U15′s B team earning a clean sweep as they started their Div 2 London League campaign beating Croydon 8-2 and followed up with a 10-0 win over Otter and a 15-0 win over Haringey. 3 wins from 3 played.

Watford U15′s B Team:

Our U15A team were next up as their also opened their London League Div one campaign with two solid wins beating Worthing 18-2 and Chelmsford 13-4. 2 wins from 2 played.

U18′s Winter League Champions 2016/17 season.

The U18’s beat Enfield in the delayed Winter League Final on Sunday evening at Habs Boys School winning the match 15-7 to go the full season undefeated.

The Qtr scores 4-3, 4-1, 5-1, 2-2 – final score 15-7.

In a tight first qtr the teams were locked together at 2-2 before a couple of quick quick goals via Will Eggleton & Jack Warman had Watford 4-2 up but Enfield remained in touching distant with a goal late in the quarter for 4-3.

The second & third quarters saw Watford power ahead as they ran in a total of 9 goals to two and extend their lead to 13-5 during this devastaing period Adam Page hit four with Warman & Eagleton adding a brace each & Jarryd Mybugh completing the scorers.

The final period saw the teams fight out a 2-2 quarter with goals from Page & Warman both players finished the game with five apiece & a Winter League Championship Title & medal to boot as the team won the match 15 -7 to complete an undefeated season.

Sunday evening at Woodside saw Watford Men’s 2nd team host Kingston in London League Div One action, having clinched the Winter League Div Two title by winning all eight games. Victory over Kingston would get the season off to a good start.

The opening quarter saw Kingston score early before Andy Holt score a quick double to give Watford the lead at 2-1. Kingston leveled soon after before taking the lead & extending it further for 4-2 but goals from Matt Irish & another from Holt for his hat-trick leveled the game again at 4-4.

The second & third periods saw Watford take a strangle hold on the game with 15 goals scored to 3 conceded to take a 19-6 lead. Holt scored a further five with Steve Behr also netting five, Wayne Davis a brace and Irish claiming another.

The final period saw Watford score a further 5 goals to 1 conceded to win their first match of the season 24-8. Holt score a further two goals to complete a fantastic night with a haul of ten goals, Steve Behr scored two more as well for a total of Seven and Dan Kattan one more.
